Difficult food day d/t travel and reliance on train food...

pre: 1 egg

post: chicken, pork, broccoli, 1 apple, coffee + cream

scrambled egg with salsa, more coffee + cream

1 hamburger with cheese (no bun, of course), salad (This was funny--I was at a trendy 50s style burger joint at Yonge and Dundas Square--complete with the Beach Boys and little juke boxes on the tables. When I ordered a burger with no bun, no fries, no sauce, salad without dressing and a glass of water instead of a cherry lemon drop milkshake, the waitress looked at me as if I had grown an extra head. She so couldn't believe it, she brought me fries anyway and was obviously annoyed that I didn't use the little smiley face shaped puddle of ketchup she had so carefully drawn on my side plate!!), more coffee + cream

prosciutto and lettuce wrapped tomato/pepper concoction, cod, kale, carrots

1 glass red wine, 2 pieces of cheese

Breaky: one egg cupcake with veggies; banana; pumpkin seeds; tea

Snack: egg cupcake; apple; almonds; tea

Lunch: Cobb salad with chicken, bacon, pecans, hard-boiled egg, carrots, tomatoes!; espresso

Snack: apple; almonds; black tea

Supper: pork; chicken stirfry; blueberry goodness; brazil nuts!

Today was the first day I have eaten out at a restaurant since before the challenge! They were very accommodating. The salad was amazing, but I think it was because I didn't have to make it for a change - ha!

I am miserable, exhausted, headache, cravings like crazy and very hungry! This week has been trying for me- most of you have already been through all this and it is just
starting for me! (And I'm sure it doesn't help that I have baked over 100 cupcakes!) Any suggestions?

Lunch - leftover pork and veggies, few almonds

Snack - more of lunch

Dinner - More of above

Snack - 1/2 cucumber, few carrots, chorizo sausage, sunflower seeds

Cravings and hunger have pretty much dissipated. I'm finding the hardest part of this diet is making sure I'm prepared in advance for meals.I've been sticking to trying to make big meals and have plenty of leftovers in case I'm out so I have something to grab.

Thanks Amanda. It is really hard to stick with it on the road--prep is key. But do you know what is gonna be even harder? This weekend!! I've been dreading it since we started. Hallowe'en is the only holiday I actually celebrate and it's also my wedding anniversary. Dinner party tomorrow means great food--even great paleo friendly food--but great food does not go so well with WATER!!! Hee hee..I dunno if I'm gonna make it!!!

Meal 1: omelette with mushrooms, tomatoes & green onion; raspberries, blueberries, pecans.
Meal 2: 1 boiled egg, 1 banana, pistachios, black coffee.
Meal 3: salmon, broccolini, pistachios.
Meal 4: mixed greens, chicken, tomatoes, cucumber, dried cherries, pecans, flax seed oil.
Meal 5: catfish, zucchini, pistachios.
Meal 6: scrambled egg whites, 1 pear, almond butter.

This weekend is gonna be the ultimate test for me too!!! Halloween is my favorite holiday of the year & I'm not at all worried about the food either even though I'm going to a huge bash which will have all kinds of homemade baked goodies as well as non-paleo foods LOL. The drinks, the drinks!!!! Aggrrrrr.....

Ha ha!! It's only the booze for me too. Since my spouse and most of my friends are musicians and foodies who enjoy fantastic wine, you can imagine the dilemma...they haven't been very understanding about this whole thing!!!

FYI... Halloween is not a holiday. Hahaha

Once again I am noticing that people are not including any protein source with their snacks. Whaddup with that people???

Dawson: Hallowe'en is too a holiday...look it up---older holiday than anything most peeps currently celebrate..
