Re: frequent urination, clumsiness and being easily irritated.

Over the past week i've had to get up in the middle of the night to pee, this is unusual for me! Also going much more throughout the days.

Yesterday while at my moms I smoked my head TWICE (within a 2 hour span) on THE SAME light fixture. That wasn't enough so I decided to walk into the tv wall mount thingy, causing a cut on my head !

Lately at work I just have absolutely NO patience for people and the littlest things were annoying me. I find i'm getting better as time goes on ! Also I find myself more forgetful!?

This weekend was easier than I had imagined, after a bit of explaining what and why I choose to eat the way I do (thanks Dawson!).

It was a good weekend, but glad to be back into the swing of things tomorrow...having crossfit withdrawals...come on 7am!

An unexpected upside of this challenge is that people around me are eating better too. For example, I now keep sliced carrot sticks in the fridge to munch on. Our weekend guests ended up eating all of the carrot sticks. Normally I would not of had them and we likely would have eaten junk.

Meal 1: turkey omelette, reapberries, 1 banana, avocado.
Meal 2: pecan chicken, watermelon, cantelope, honeydew melon, unsweetened applesauce, double espresso.
Meal 3: spaghetti squash, ground beef with mushrooms, onions & tomato sauce.
Meal 4: ham, turkey, spinach & arugula salad with pear, red onion, walnuts, dried figs, pumpkin seeds, blueberries (delicious); 1 glass red wine.

Fantastic weekend - 3 turkey dinners & got lots of leftovers for this week!! The biggest pain is prepping and cooking all the time and hitting the grocery store almost every day so was a nice break!!!

Breaky - 3 eggs, mixed berries, walnuts

Lunch - roast beef, broccoli, few almonds, apple

Snack - roast beef, almonds

Dinner - Turkey, carrots, fish oil caps, more turkey

Snack - 4 egg omelet with tomato, onion and asparagus

Still feeling exhausted. I'm now tired 24/7 and feel I could sleep all day. Came down with a cold over the weekend which hasn't helped.

Linds - I should be done Robb Wolf's book this week then you can borrow it. In the meantime you're welcome to Cordain's Paleo book if you like.

Mike, it may be the Turkey that is making you sleepy. Here is an excerpt for http://recipes.howstuffworks.com/question519.htm

Turkey does have the makings of a natural sedative in it, an amino acid called tryptophan. Tryptophan is an essential amino acid, meaning that the body can't manufacture it. The body has to get tryptophan and other essential amino acids from food. Tryptophan helps the body produce the B-vitamin niacin, which, in turn, helps the body produce serotonin, a remarkable chemical that acts as a calming agent in the brain and plays a key role in sleep. So you might think that if you eat a lot of turkey, your body would produce more serotonin and you would feel calm and want a nap.

Dan,

thanks for the info. I'm aware of tryptophan and the issue with lots of turkey. I'm sure that was part of the cause for my lethargy but my fatigue has been going on for a number of days even preturkey.

I felt good the first few days and since then felt like I hit a wall, very tired, but Jeff said usually after 10-14 days your body starts to adjust.....

I am feeling off and on. I feel fine and then a wave of tired. It's a really weird tired, though, unlike other sorta drowsy or sleepy feelings. I literally feel like I've hit a wall and it's hard to even stand up. First, my eyes start to water and my brain/head feels full and then I feel like a robot that has just wound down...literally...like I will just stop...
