"Paleo Pizza"
Ingredients
The "Crust"
- 1 cup almond meal
- 1/3 cup egg white
- 2 Tbsp nut butter
- optional - any seasoning you want (I've used rosemary, basil, oregano, crushed chilies, pepper, etc.)
The Sauce
- 1 cup Thomas' Utopia Organic crushed tomatoes
- 2 Tbsp dried oregano
- 2 Tbsp dried basil
- 2 cloves garlic minced
The Toppings
- whatever you feel like having (just no cheese)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
- Grease a baking sheet with oil (either olive or melted coconut oil)
- The Crust
- mix all ingredients well in a bowl
- flatten evenly over greased pan
- make sure you have a glass or bowl with water to help flatten out the crust because it will stick to the spatula or rolling pin
- cook until top looks dry and edges are slightly golden
- unstick it from the bottom of the pan (if it is stinking)
- top with rest of ingredients
- The Sauce - while the crust is cooking
- lightly sautee garlic in olive or coconut oil until starts to become golden
- add herbs and sautee for another minute or 2
- add the crushed tomatoes and stir often but do not let it boil
- The Toppings
- sautee whatever toppings you want at medium heat in olive or coconut oil
- Lather the crust with the sauce then top with your toppings of choice
- Cook until the outer crust is a darker gold colour
- Be careful not to burn the crust as it can happen easily
