Paleo "Pizza"

There have been a few requests for this recipe so here it is:

"Paleo Pizza"

Ingredients

The "Crust"
  • 1 cup almond meal
  • 1/3 cup egg white
  • 2 Tbsp nut butter
  • optional - any seasoning you want (I've used rosemary, basil, oregano, crushed chilies, pepper, etc.)
The Sauce
  • 1 cup Thomas' Utopia Organic crushed tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp dried oregano
  • 2 Tbsp dried basil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
The Toppings
  • whatever you feel like having (just no cheese)
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
  2. Grease a baking sheet with oil (either olive or melted coconut oil)
  3. The Crust
    1. mix all ingredients well in a bowl
    2. flatten evenly over greased pan
      1. make sure you have a glass or bowl with water to help flatten out the crust because it will stick to the spatula or rolling pin
    3. cook until top looks dry and edges are slightly golden
    4. unstick it from the bottom of the pan (if it is stinking)
    5. top with rest of ingredients
  4. The Sauce - while the crust is cooking
    1. lightly sautee garlic in olive or coconut oil until starts to become golden
    2. add herbs and sautee for another minute or 2
    3. add the crushed tomatoes and stir often but do not let it boil
  5. The Toppings
    1. sautee whatever toppings you want at medium heat in olive or coconut oil
  6. Lather the crust with the sauce then top with your toppings of choice
  7. Cook until the outer crust is a darker gold colour
  8. Be careful not to burn the crust as it can happen easily

Is a stinky crust a common problem?
